Overfeeding is one of the easiest aquarium mistakes to make because fish learn the feeding routine quickly. Many will crowd the glass five minutes after a meal. That response means they recognize an opportunity, not necessarily that they need more food.
Start with only what the fish can finish in about one or two minutes. Add a small amount, watch where it goes, and adjust at the next feeding.
